HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - BoS - 05/09/2017 Selectmen's Meeting May 9, 2017 Selectmen Meeting Town Hall-Selectmen's Office 41 Highland Ave. Cohasset, MA Selectmen Present: Kevin McCarthy Paul Schubert Diane Kennedy Jack Keniley Steve Gaumer Others Present: Christopher Senior,Town Manager Special Counsel,James Lampke Chairman McCarthy called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call Vote: Jack Keniley-Present, Diane Kennedy-Present, Kevin McCarthy-Present, Paul Schubert-Present, Steve Gaumer-Present. Pledge-Recited Public Comments-None Selectmen Comments-Selectman Schubert stated that Annual Town Meeting last week went great. Chairman McCarthy stated he has received comments from residents about the Cunningham Bridge project and asked if the plans and rough schedule is available to the public. Mr. Senior stated Director of Public Works Brian Joyce met with the State last week. He will see if a representative from the State can give an update at the 5/16 meeting. He will also see that the plans and schedule is put on the website for the public. Selectman Kennedy asked that the board/committee discussion be placed on the agenda for 5/16/17. Selectman Kennedy asked for a moment of silence for Jessica MacDonald who passed away at the age of 42 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a Hall of Fame Athlete with the Special Olympics. Continued Hearing for Change of Manager for the Red Lion Inn-Chairman McCarthy gave an overview of why the hearing was continued and what will be discussed tonight. The Board sent the Red Lion Inn a letter advising them of the follow up that was needed. Owner Gerd Ordelheide and proposed manager Joanne Nardo were present. Attorney Lampke reviewed what the Board requested for tonight's hearing. He asked for the paper work for the Vote of the Corporate Board. Ms. Nardo submitted the information as requested. Mr. Ordelheide addressed the Board and stated how he is doing a worldwide search for the manager of his business and is not sure how long it will take. Selectman Gaumer stated that the Board is discussing the manager of the liquor license and not the general manager. Mr. Ordelheide stated he has full confidence in Ms. Nardo as the liquor license manager and that she would adhere to the regulations. Selectman Schubert asked that the Board be provided the manager's and assistant managers' schedules. Ms. Nardo will provide the information. He also reiterated the importance of notifying the police if they are on site after operating hours. Selectman Keniley asked about how many hours that the Red Lion Inn was open last week. Ms. Nardo responded that they were open for 36 hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Chairman McCarthy closed the hearing and the Board deliberated. 1 Selectmen's Meeting May 9, 2017 Motion by Selectman Kennedy to approve Joanne Nardo as the manager of record for the Red Lion Inn, seconded by Selectman Schubert and the vote was unanimous (5-0).
