CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 pm in the Town Hall Kitchen.
AEC Committee members met with the Board of Selectmen at 9:45 pm.
1) QUARTERLY REPORT TO BOARD OF SELECTMAN
Tanya opened the presentation and noted the active members on the Committee.
The Committee members introduced themselves.
Each Committee member presented a portion of the update (Attachment A).

Alternative Energy Committee— Goals/Objectives
- Investigate and identify alternative energy resources and opportunities for
municipal energy efficiency and resilience;
- Support the Town Manager and his staff in exploring grants and procurement
options that maximize safety,energy efficiency,and reduced emissions:
- Investigate community-wide,residential and business,energy efficient and
clean energy options;
- Contribute to public awareness and education on Town initiatives and long-
term benefits of achieving Cohasset's strategic energy efficiency objectives;
• Together with the Town Manager, report to the BOS quarterly on the Towns
progress and the cost-saving benefits of meeting the objectives of the Green
Community status and other energy-based policies that benefit the Town and its
citizens; and
- Support other committees,as requested by the Board of Selectmen.

Alternative Energy Committee - Members
The Alternative Energy Committee shall consist or seven members of the public plus a
liaison from the Town with"demonstrated interest and relevant skills:"
• Tanya Bodell ICh air)—more than 25 years seruingas an advisor to companies in the
energy industries; formerch air of the AEC 2011-2013
• Patricia Gooding(Vice Chair)—returning to the committee for her fourth year,
played a crucial role in bringing Cubasset energy consumption data into the Green
Communities database
• Steve Girardi (Secretary)—electrical engineer employed by Hingham Municipal Light
Company;has served on the AEC for 4 years
• Steve Wenner—longest standing member of the AEC since 2012 as a champion of
solar,Green Communities and now community aggregation
• MaryIo Larson—an international facilitator of complex issues and former AEC chair
• Bill Fusco—advocate for alternative energy and what it can do for the future
• Michael Schmitt—worked at Pilgrim Nuclear PIantr Evers ource, and now Hull
municipal Light Plant
• Michelle Leary—Town Liaison focused on Green Communities grantsfrealixation

AEC Next Steps—Set 2020 Priorities
The next Alternative Energy Committee meeting will be held on
December 9,2019 at Town Hall to review potential projects and establish
priorities for 2020. Initial list includes:
• Assist uvithfinaIiaing existing projects as required (LED streetlights and
EV charging stations under the Green Communities grant)
• New electric vehicles for the Town
• Facilitate energy efficiency options for the Town and residents
