MEETING MINUTES
Town of Cohasset
Advisory Committee

1. Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Peter Pescatore, Chair of the
Advisory Committee.
2. Five Year Financial Forecast
Peter presented the five year financial forecast that was presented by Chris Senior in a recent
public information session. A lengthy discussion ensued; no action was taken.

3. Liaison Report: Water Dept.
The Water Dept. has engaged Woodard& Curran to conduct a rate study. The study will
address both long-term revenue requirements and the rate structure.
The Water Dept. has an outstanding RFP for Contract Operations for the Water Department
Facilities. The contract of the current operator, Woodard& Curran, expires on June 30.
Proposals are due February 19. Technical proposals will be reviewed and ranked by a
committee that will include one member of the Advisory Committee. John Chapman will
serve that role.
4. Liaison Report: Sewer Dept.
The Sewer Dept. is considering taking back the North Cohasset flow because of capital
contributions that would have to be made. The decision will be made based on the ongoing
Sewer Capacity Study.
5. Liaison Report: Community Preservation Committee
They expect to have 4-6 projects at Town Meeting:
-Turkey Hill trail maintenance
-Housing Authority maintenance
-Refurbish the Memorial under St. Stephen's
-Restoration of the Bicentennial Flag
-Signage on the Gaylord Levy grave in Beechwood Cemetary
-More affordable housing for elders
6. Minutes for 1/22 meeting
MOTION TO APPROVE as amended by Bob Benson, second by Lee Jenkins. Motion
approved 4-0 (Nan Roth, George Chamillard abstaining)
7. Senior Center
The Town Manager is in negotiations with the Social Service league for the new Senior
Center building based on the due diligence report and opinion of the Attorney General.
8. Adjournment at 8:15 pm
Motion by Bob Benson, second by Lee Jenkins. Motion approved 6-0.
