7:04pm-The Meeting is called to order
1. Town Finance—Chris Senior and Mary Gallagher
The Water Dept.has a$400,000 shortfall at this point. Some calculations were difficult to predict with the
rate cut and they put a significant amount of retained earnings into Capital Stabilization at Town Meeting.
Town-side revenue and expenses look good heading into the last month of the year—about$250,000 ahead
on revenue, $150,000 ahead on expenses. The town is projecting$400,000 total in Free Cash at the end of
the year.
The School Dept.is on target for their budget and their spending has evened out over the course of the year.
The Town Manager is exploring an additional tool for creating and tracking the budget. Arlington has
developed budget software that presents data in a visual format that will help officials, staff and residents to
more easily understand town finances. There will be a presentation to the Selectman in the near future.
As part of the new website, contact information for Committees is available and the Chair requests an email
address from the Town to conduct official business.
OPEB:The Town is moving benefit plans to MAIA.Retired employees have been moved to new plan that
saves the town and retirees money. The next step is moving retired teachers who have been in GIC since
1972.It is a multi-step process including bargaining with current teachers.
The Town Manager was notified that Cohasset was accepted into the Collins' Center's StatNet program.
The process begins the 3rd week in July and the Police and Fire Departments will be the first to be analyzed.
The Town Manager is exploring a"See-Click-Fix"program for residents to report needed public works
repairs and the process should begin in September.

years of service and his helpful and productive participation.
4. Alternative Energy Committee
Tanya Bodell is liaison to the AEC and reported that plans are moving forward with vendors for the
production of solar power. The State Legislature is renewing a program to subsidize new projects;projects
were stalled because of cap on megawatts. The new SREC2 is not as generous as the previous program but
should be beneficial to Cohasset.Net metering credit for landfills, etc has not been expanded and the
municipal side of the program is not yet full.
Cohasset's vendor,Broadway Electric, sold their business to Nexamp.Nexamp has spoken with Cohasset
to discuss the existing bid but Town Council believes may need to be re-bid because the project falls under
the new program.

Respectfully submitted,
Rich Fitzpatrick
