HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - AC - 10/15/2019 Cohasset Advisory Committee Meeting October 15, 2019 Cohasset Town Hall Attendance: Helene Lieb, (Chair), Fran Collins, Michael Dick, Leland Jenkins, Rob Hillman, and Tom Baker Called to order: 7:32 CPC Article: Request to transfer$150,000 in funds from the CPC to the Affordable Housing Trust: CPC and Affordable Housing Trust members were present to offer clarification of the request and that there are earmarked funds available. Fran moves to recommend CPC transfer request. Seconded by Michael Dick.Approved 6-0. Capital request—Lift systems for town dock: Michael Dick expressed concern that there was no representation before the Advisory Board providing rationale or details for the request. Further, information related to the request, including but not limited to a cost benefit analysis and required approvals, should be provided five days in advance and that proponents should be present before the advisory committee.There was no interest in taking a position on the request at this time. The committee discussed the rationale for the town to support the request, raising the prospect of the economic value brought about by commercial fishing. Michael Dick shared his feedback from Harbor Committee discussions, where Marblehead and its conveyer belt served as a comparable for coming up with an estimate. The committee specifically wants answers to the following: - What does $60,000 get the Town of Cohasset? - How do we keep the belt secure? - What regulatory considerations are there? - What liability considerations are there? Michael Dick moved to consider the capital request on Oct 28. Seconded by Fran Collins.Approved 6-0. Capital request—wheelchair van for schools: Discussed giving particular consideration to any recommendation that could require an employee, as a matter of discipline. Also wanted to explore if sharing resources with neighboring or nearby towns is a possibility. Tom Baker moved to consider the request on October 28. Seconded by Leland Jenkins. Approved 6-0. Topics not reasonably anticipated by Chairman 48 hours in advance: Reviewed calendars to schedule a meeting on Oct. 28 at 7:30 pm to review any outstanding town warrant items. Adjournment: 8:32 pm.
