John called the meeting called to order at 9:07 am.,2"d by Rolf all in favor.
Interconnect Meeting with Aquarion Water&Linden Ponds
New building is 70% reserved, 30-40 people have moved in. John wanted to know if he
had any idea of additional water needs at this time. He reported that no more is needed
right now. John asked if the current contract needs to be addressed Fernando stated that
we are meeting their needs. Rolf asked about the meter at the facility if it has been fixed.
Fernando stated that John Amonte is working on this. Carl asked what the projected
build up is, and he stated approximately 200 people moving in. Paul said that there will
be an impact at the sewer treatment plant, which is run by Woodard&Curran. Carl said
that they are reusing water at the plant, so the usage is at a minimum. Steve said that he
has nothing new to report. Lee asked about Avalon on 3A in Hingham, when would this
be going online and if they would have enough water to supply. Steve stated that they
should be fine. Steve explained that 90%of their water was ground water and 10%was
supplied by Accord Pond. Lee then asked about their sales and Steve reported that sales
are steady. Steve reported that the state has approved their unaccountable water, and it is
currently down to 16%. Next meeting tentatively, Tuesday, September 11 @ 9:00 am

Looping S. Main to Ledgewood Farm Drive—Final pay requisition was received
yesterday,which Jason approved. He is just waiting for a signed copy. There is still an
issue with erosion control. Jason is waiting for the conservation agent to state that it can
be removed. All of the equipment has been removed.

Verizon Antennas—Carl reported that they are near completion and they are on site
today. Lee asked if the increase would start in September as projected. Brenda could not
answer that question
Scituate Hill Water Tank Painting—The package has been put together,tank painting
should begin in September.
T IM Study—Meeting with consultants,Tetratek,here at 9:00 am on Friday 6/15. Joe
reported lowered chlorine level,we have also checked pH out in system and found no
variation. Currently we are getting 70%removal and the level and pH leaving plant is
7.0. Study should be complete by the end of summer. Paul said that for$15,000 it is
going to be very generalized. Paul said that we are doing everything we can do here at
the plant, and they are adjusting pH at Ellms Meadow. John asked if everyone agreed
that we are taking the correct steps moving forward and everyone agreed. Joe also said
that we are doing weekly THM testing. Then there was a discussion about running 24
hours a day and that could be a pilot study
SCADA Update—90%comments meeting is tomorrow at 11:00. A memo from Doug
Tirrell to provide the extra information that Nate Redman is looking for would be
$8,500.00. John said that if this is not necessary he would rather not spend the money.
Jason wanted to be clear that some sort of documentation be delivered if W&C was to
leave. The board voted to move forward without the additional costs for engineering.
Dam Repairs—Parr Engineering has been contracted to write up the tasks. Jason will get
Brenda copy of the contract so that she can encumber the monies from FY2018.
Milfoil—Monies have been encumbered and work should commence in July. Contract
was signed on 5/1/18.
Lee asked if Jason heard about the weed harvester that is supposed to be given to the
Town of Cohasset. Jason said he will follow up and report at the next meeting.
Arc Flash Study—Joe reported in 2013,an Arc Flash Study is required by the National
Joe has a price of$8,500 for the 5-year review. It looks at the electrical system as a
whole and makes sure that circuits are locked out when they are supposed to. The
original study was paid for by Woodard&Curran. Lee wanted to make sure that with the
SCADA upgrade that they would not have to do this again. Joe said that they would not.
John made a motion to approve the Arc Flash Study 2nd by Rolf all in favor.
Ellms Meadow Clean Up/Fencing—Jason will ask Jeff Summer, Conservation
Commission,if it is ok to put up the fence. Carl met with Armstrong Fence on Monday
and is awaiting a quote. If it comes in high 2 other quotes will be needed.
Municipal Vulnerability Study—Lee went Monday to the meeting at Wilcott Commons.
There was a concern to protect the water from pollution. She suggested possibly looking
at restricting large trucks from King to avoid possible accidents. Then restricting the
salt/sand mix from King Street&around Ellms Meadow.

Abatements/Warrants/Minutes
Warrants were signed and approved by the board.
Aidan Donahue of 4 Ledgewood Drive requested abatement of his May 1, 2018 water bill
due to a leaky toilet. The bill was not paid so John made a motion to deny because the
bill has not paid 2nd by Lee all in favor.
James Atkins&John Weltman of 92A Beach Street requested abatement of their
November 1, 2017 water bill due to a faulty stopper in a toilet. Rolf recused himself,and
John made a motion to deny they felt that the owners should have detected the issue.
This was 2nd by Lee.
Commission Comments
Lee asked if any flushing will be done. Carl said no due to the fact that the reservoir is
dropping. If we get rain,then flushing can be done in the Fall.
There was then a discussion about the Water Model owned by W&C,Jason would like to
rent it. Jason would like approval to get the model this would be at a cost of
approximately$5,000. John made a motion to approve the update of the water model at a
cost of$5,000 2nd by Lee all in favor.
Ripley Road water main break was discussed. The board wanted to know if there were
any more clough valves on the road. Carl said there is no way of knowing unless you dig
them up.
Next meeting scheduled for July 17, 2018 @ 9:00.
John made a motion to adj ourn the meeting at 10:16 am, 2nd by Rolf,all in favor.
