Ellms Meadow Wellfield Rolf would like to have the wellfield turned on. Carl said that the wellfield was shut off due to low pH. Carl has submitted a new lead &copper list to the DEP for Tier I. The new list is all homes that were built between 1983-1985. John said that until there is a treatment in place at Ellms Meadow that it cannot be turned back on. Lee asked why we are so low in water. John said there has been no rain. Lee asked how much Hingham used during their break Carl said only 300,000. Rolf wanted to know if we could start to true up with Hingham. The board is concerned with no rain that the pond is dropping. Carl said we are close to where we were last year. But last year in June we had 7.5" in rain. This month we have had only .77' of rain. Carl then handed out the Drought Phase Levels. We are not there yet but if we don't get any rain we will have to look at come July 1St. Rolf will write something up and send it around for everyone to review. We need to get the word out to have people only irrigate between 5:00pm to 9:00am. Lee asked if we could cut down to giving Hingham 100,000 instead of 125,000. Carl explained that if they are using 125,000 we are required to give them that. Carl is having Bruce contact Hingham and see what they are using. He also told Bruce that if they ask for more that we would not be able to do that. Carl explained that Linden Ponds has restrictions in the contract as well. He explained that they have wells for their irrigation system. Rolf feels that we should not cut back on Linden Ponds since they are a paying customer, John agreed. 339 King Street, Cohasset, Massachusetts 02025 Tel: (781) 383-0057 Fax: (781) 383-2906 www.cohassetwater.org 8 James Lane Rolf wants to make sure that when they open up the road that they do the loop at that time. If the project fails Rolf is concerned that only one end will be done. I explained that we are the only ones who have the authority to turn the water on. We can refuse to turn the water on unless the loop is complete. Lee wanted to make sure that the board shows up for the meeting in July when they discuss the drainage. John made a motion to move that the Water Department not turn on the water for any units at 8 James lane until the looping is completed, 2°d by Lee all in favor.
