Minutes of the Cohasset Board of Water Commissioners

Members Present: Rolf Gjesteby, Vice-Chairman

Motion made by Rolf to open meeting at 9.15 this was seconded by John.
Warrants/Abatements/Water Deferral
Warrants were signed off on and approved.
Abatement: Elizabeth Maree, 31 Parker Avenue. Abatement states that during the winter
a spigot let go and she did not know about it for a day or two. She has paid the bill in full
and never requested abatement before. Mrs. Maree is 87 years old is this is a hardship on
her. Rolf made a motion to approve abatement in the amount of$270.83 this was
seconded by John.
Water Deferral: Donna Grafton, 26 Hammond Avenue. Motion made by John and 2"d
by Rolf to approve Deferral for FY2015 water fees. All capital recovery charges have
been paid.
Contract
John stated that someone from W&C contact Chris senior and give a 3 day extension to
the current contract. John suggested doing an amendment to the current contract.
Brian stated that they could not extend the current. The existing agreement is a higher
rate than the new contract so it would cost more. John would like something in writing as
to how we are to run for the next 2 weeks without a contract. John suggested determining
writing something as to how we are to run. Brian& John said will work on something in
writing and send it to Chris immediately. Joe reported that Paul was on vacation and
Steve Nero forwarded the contract to W&C counsel, who had lots of questions. Brian
suggested tentatively Wednesday morning getting W&C and Chris together. Brian said
he had responses to W&C concerns. John said he did not think that it was necessary for

us to review that it should be hashed out with the attorneys. Joe will get in touch with
W&C to set up.
Just in general on the points which were brought up by W&C by Brian stated that the
language change was directly from the RFP.
There was then a discussion about Scituate Fire using the tank. This was tabled until the
full board is available to discuss.
David & Wendy Neubert
The Neubert's did not attend the meeting. John said that he would prepare a draft letter
to send in response to the latest request to fix our fence. John felt the deductible is on
the property side not the liability side. John asked if I would e-mail the letter with the
pictures. I said that I would and that I would also send a hard copy.
Rolf asked what was going on with Beechwood Street at the railroad crossing. Brian said
that it was repaired last year. But now that it has settled. The Fire Department has to
come to a complete stop to go over that section of road. Brian said the T is under new
contract with Keolis and they seem to be more responsive. They did the Pleasant Street
tracks and they grease every curve. They had a greaser on the wellfield side of the track.
This was moved upstream by Dell's lemonade. Brian stated there are drainage issues and
trees to be cut back but again they are being very responsive.
Motion made by John to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 pm this was 2nd by Rolf, all in favor.
