The Charge of the Committee is to work with the Town Manager and the Director of Public Works in the
oversight of renovations to Town Hall.
What does the committee need to start with? What is the SCOPE of the Project?
Shane Nolan from Daedalus was introduced to the Committee as the Project Manager for the renovation
of Town Hall.
It was discussed that a space needs analysis should be the first topic of discussion. Some pertinent
information is already available from the study completed in 2008, as well as the study completed by HKT
Associates.
Discussion led to the space needs differences now, with the new Elder Services building as well as the
relocation of the Recreation Department.
It was discussed whether or not Town Hall could/should be relocated to another location in Cohasset.
Shane Nolan made a point to discuss the proposed timetable and the need to get an RFQfor Architectural
Services out as soon as possible.
After the proposals are short listed, the Town can ask each prospective firm to provide their ideas for the
scope of the project, thereby giving the committee a better idea of what the scope of the project should
be.
The Town will provide a common site on the computer for the committee to submit questions and
answers to each other regarding the project.
The committee was tasked with reviewing the analysis submitted by HKT in 2013 and the analysis by Carr,
Lynch and Sandell from 2008 for the next meeting to discuss the useful aspects of both studies to
determine what can be utilized to give the committee a better idea of what the program should be.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
