Alves, J. DeLorenzo, V. Froio, T. Goff, J. Hartwell Members Absent: E. Frazier Others Present: T. Carroll, Director, Tim Burnieika, Lisa Uglialoro Motion to Accept Meeting Minutes of 5-09-18 as written: Motion: J. DeLorenzo 2nd: A. Alves Vote: 5-0 Reorganization for 2018/2019 of Commission Officers: Chairman: Motion for Abigail Alves— J. DeLorenzo, 2nd T. Goff, Vote: 4-0 Vice-Chair: Motion for Jack DeLorenzo— A. Alves, 2nd T. Goff, Vote: 4-0 Secretary: Motion for Ginni Froio— J. DeLorenzo, 2nd A. Alves, Vote: 4-0 Motion to have Abigail Alves be the Rec Com Harbor Committee Rep: Motion: J. Hartwell 2nd: J. DeLorenzo Vote: 5-0 Motion to have Jeff Hartwell represent the Rec Com with Open Space/Rec: Motion: A. Alves 2nd: T. Goff Vote: 5-0 The Board welcomed Jeff Hartwell. Tim Burnieika has applied for the open seat that will require a joint vote by the Selectmen and Rec Board on Tuesday, June 12. Tim gave the board a background on his experiences with various boards and youth sports organizations. Update—Summer Program: 510 children in the playground program. 88 total staff to date for all the programs. This numbers does not include the certified basketball referees and junior volunteers which will bring us to close to 120. Nurse position was posted at Indeed and three candidates expressed interest that will be vetted and interviewed next week. Deer Hill received funding for a tent for an outdoor classroom. We put up our tent in the meantime and will be able to use both during the summer. Friday, August 1 oth is the last day of the big program. Basketball Program: 250 children. Certified referees are being used with younger players being used as scorekeepers. There is a need to recruit girls to help officiate. Concert schedule is set and will be announced soon. Willcutt Commons has been approved for a rainy day site for us 100 Sohier Street/Milliken Field CPC Article Discussion: Abigail, Jack and Jeramie DiBona from the Soccer Board will arrange a meeting to push forward the Milliken Field project. Brian Joyce was going to meet with Clark Brewer to get cost estimates. The new fence at Sohier Street will be installed on Thursday, June 141h. The parking lot did have the cracks repaired and the board wanted to know when the lot will be paved and or lined. Ginni asked about the progress on the weather station that the board approved in July 2017. Motion to Adjourn: J. DeLorenzo 2nd T.
