Alves, G. Froio, T. Goff, K. Mulcahy Members Absent: J. DeLorenzo, E. Frazier, M. Frame Others Present: T. Carroll, Director, K. Daley Motion to Accept Meeting Minutes of 10-11-17 as written: Motion: G. Froio 2nd: A. Alves Vote: 4-0 Summer 18 Discussion: Kate Daley and Ted Carroll reviewed the operations at 100 Sohier Street and the issues with 99 pre- school and High 5 children here in the summer of 2017. We had issues with traffic and time to allow 99 children to be removed from cars and put back in them. A new train versus car incident had has change drop off to have cars go to the Music Circus first. This adjustment did work but extended the drop off until 9:20-9:30 and cost us unplanned police details and extra staff on the street. We also only have three toilets for 99 children and 18 staff. In lieu of turning children away we propose two three week sessions for Pre-School. For the most part, most children will get into both sessions and we expect parents with vacations and other programs to pick one session. Motion to approve 2018 summer schedule as proposed: Motion: G. Froio 2nd: T. Goff Vote: 4-0 100 Sohier Street/Milliken Field CPC Article Discussion: The Commission discussed moving the 100 Sohier Street project forward as soon as possible. This includes proposing two courts at 100 Sohier Street, field improvements, the replacement of the fence as voted last year and dedicating the walkway around the side of the building to Jessica MacDonald The Cohasset Basketball Boosters would like the project to proceed so their donation in the name of Stefan Hanke can be used. The two courts will be able to handle the very popular summer basketball program. Motion to move the 100 Sohier Street project forward: Motion: T. Goff 2nd: G. Froio Vote: 4-0 Brain Joyce has been working with Mark Gallagher to get all the details for the Milliken Field Shed. We hope for a summer time finish with that project. Thanks for Giving Race: A record crowd of 830 registered. New course due to no bridge liked the route but it is more expensive. Donations were down and we hope to hit 1000 runners next year. We will be switching to a chip timing system next year, it's pricier but with the number of runners is needed and allows us to have more staff on the street. Harbor Committee Update (Mulcahy): Kim updated the commission on the ongoing meetings and plan to go out to bid on a professional plan for the Harbor. Motion to Adjourn: T. Goff 2nd A. Alves Vote: 4-0 Meeting duly Adjourned— 8:14PM Respectfully submitted, Elizabeth Deveney Frazier, Chairperson
