2. New Business
A. Donald Staszko- Discusses his desire to extend the sewer district to encompass the Stop
&Shop Plaza. He would like to file a Citizens Petition for a town meeting vote. Wayne
Sawchuk enters into discussions speaking more about the feasibility of this project. He
recommends looking at the larger picture to incorporate other areas. Looking at options
presented by Dan Coughlin, Sawchuk is concerned that the pipes in the area may be un-
dersized based on development and/or capacity. Shopping Center could pump,there-
fore sending more capacity to the Veterans Pump station. Staszko asking if a pipe could

be placed in the shoulder of 3A.Therefore expanding sewer from 3A to King Street. The
Board would like to look into the cost and how it would be perceived to the community.
John Beck educated Staszko on the driving force to extend sewer districts. Public Health
concerns opened these conversations. There are public health concerns just beyond
Beechwood near Brewster. Susan Sarni presents issues: currently monthly maintenance
of the system at Curtis Liquor is required. Fiori's Gulf is pumping weekly. They have an
engineer looking at redesigning their septic system. Watching Blue Mussel and Dunkin
Donuts. McGowan asked BOH to prioritize. Sarni would like to see Beechwood to
Scituate. Sawchuk indicated there was a town ROH from Ledgewood to Beechwood.
Sawchuk would like to know the community impact on extending a sewer district down
3A. McGowan would like to research what can be done and the cost associated with a
project of this scope. He would like to discuss this with Brian Joyce and gain his opinion.
B. Scott Papa-Presenting monthly report. Outlining issues: Deer Hill School-need cost for
dial-out. Coughlin recommends a Mission System with cell line. Cost is approximately
$3k with a monthly fee of$30. Sawchuk would like a price for standard connection.
Papa indicated high school pump station is 30+years old and one pump is doing most of
the work, valves are stuck, electronic panel is corroding, timer is not functioning, lights
don't come on. McGowan asks Dan Coughlin to visit the pump station and recommend
upgrades. Coughlin will reach out to vendors and obtain quotes to rehab pump stations.
Deer Hill pump station is temperamental, the float has been changed and electrician
made some additional repairs. Geer box is cracked and oil is leaking. The approximate
cost to fit is$8k-$9k. McGowan makes a motion to buy new gear box, seconded by Saw-
chuk, unanimous vote.
C. Jon Marcin-Suez- McGowan starts discussions with Jon regarding Scott and Jeff's well-
being. Asking Marcin what can be done to provide relief. Marcin believes a third full-
time head is what is needed. McGowan asks if Suez is still interested in the contract with
the Town of Cohasset. Marcin responded yes, but indicated Suez is still running in the
red on a monthly basis. He said they are paying for a mistake made eight years ago. He
said it has nothing to do with Cohasset or the size of the operation. McGowan asks
Marcin to provide a proposal and cost of adding a third person to the operation. He
would like to see a new staffing model to ensure the workers do not burn-out.
Motion to adjourn meeting at 6:34 by McGowan, seconded by Sawchuk, unanimous.
