HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - OS - 08/24/2017 Open Space &Recreation Committee Minutes of 8/24/17 Meeting Call to order 6:30 PM. Members in attendance Peter Pescatore, Katie Holden, Dick Karoff and Lisey Good. Jenna McCarthy provided administrative support. The Water Commission did not meet as planned on 8/1S /17 to review their plan submittal. In conversation with the Leonora Jenkins, Chair of the commission, she assured me that they would produce a document for the plan by early September. Sewer, I attended the Sewer Commission meeting on 8/22 and presented the commission copies of Section 3:10:3: Sewer Service, from the 2009 plan with a letter explaining that we would like an update on the history from 2010 to 2017, current configuration of the sewer operation, future direction and any significant activities in the past 7 years. Lisey pointed out that there is another area in the plan that references the Little Harbor Sewer Project. I will ask the commission to provide the number of new housing hookups that have occurred within the defined sewer districts over the past 7 years and the date that the MA 2nd Judgement, for the Little Harbor pollution problem was satisfied and lifted. I will try and attend the 9/S Sewer meeting to review their information and ask additional questions. Survey Review. The committee reviewed the final Survey Power Point presentation provided by Beals &Thomas. The committee had trouble understanding how to read the bar charts describing Household Makeup at the beginning. I will contact Stacy Minihane and have her clarify the charts. Richard moved to approve the Survey results pending the chart clarification, Lisey 2nd and the vote was 4-0 to approve as amended. The committee discussed replacement of missing members and Jenna reported that Ted Goff may be appointed by the Recreation Committee to fill one spot and Lisey will contact the 2 people that had voiced an interest to submit an application before the 9/S BOS Meeting to facilitate appointment. Due to vacation and the upcoming Labor Day Holiday the next meeting will be Wednesday September 13th at 6:30 PM at the Recreation Commission Offices. The main business at the next meeting will be a detail review of the plan to identify any remaining data points that we need outside attribution. Lindsey moved to adjourn at 8 PM, Richard 2nd -the vote was 4-0 to approve. Respectfully submitted, Peter Pescatore, 8/26/17
