October 7th, 2019, Town Hall
Members present: Jacqueline Dormitzer, Merle Brown, Suzanne Wadsworth, Noel Collins, Julia
Gleason, Mark St. Onge, Megan Elder
The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm. The minutes of the last meeting were approved.
Government Island Oil House Update
Work to begin late October/ early November on oil house. Jackie to let commission know once work
begins.
Sidney Park Fishermen's Well Project or Alternative
Location of well will be marked with a boulder rather than a standing sign. Hoping that Brendan St.
John can procure a small boulder for this purpose. Jackie get a quote before commission moves
forward. Julia to draft plaque language.
Training Class for Town Board/Commission Members, October 16
Members should go to the MCPPO training if possible or should otherwise review the packet from Town
Clerk's office.
Other Business
Commission to work closely with Harbor Committee on execution of Captain's Walk versus Harbor
Walk. Tim Davis of the Harbor Committee recommends all discussions hold until funding is finalized.
The Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum contacted Cohasset Central Cemetery requesting that
markers be placed at the graves of the Tea Party participants buried there. Central Cemetery was
happy to allow this. Beechwood Cemetery was not able to be contacted for placement of a marker at
that location.
Noel will be reaching out to Jack Livingstone to invite him to the next commission meeting to discuss
native artifacts found on Supper Island.
Monday, December 2nd will be the commission's next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 7:50pm.
