Cohasset Harbor Committee Meeting

Chairman Tim Davis called the meeting to order with a quorum at 6:36 p.m.
Approval of Minutes—Motion to approve minutes of April 3, 2019 by Tom Norton,
seconded by Susan Bryant and vote was unanimous (6-0).
Update on Harbor Plan
Chairman Davis stated Emily Keys-Innis was able to attend but stated he had spoken with Ms.
Innis. Ms. Innis is working on the final plan checking for errors, putting in additional
implementation and studies, clarifying information as well as looking into the impact of the Town
budget. Chairman Davis asked the committee if they were ok with the draft plan at this point.
The Harbor Committee affirmed it and Chairman Davis said he would let Ms. Innis know.
The final plan should be done in 2-3 weeks at this time the Harbor Committee will review and
pass it on to the Selectmen for approval.

The next step would be to look at the issues and ways to fund the project. The Harbor
Committee discussed forming sub-committees with two members of the Harbor Committee plus
members of the community to participate. Chairman Davis asked the committee put together
some thoughts for sub-committees and that these would be open meetings.
Some sub-committees might be the following or a combination of:
- Commercial Fishing infrastructure
- Governance
- Harbor Security—video, lighting
- Seawall resiliency - climate change and sea level
- Breakwater
- Parking -accessibility
- Captain's Walk—start at Oak to government island
- Aquaculture —oyster farm
- Government Island — how it would work best for everyone
- Elm Street— link village to harbor
- Dredging —channel and harbor when it should be done
- Ecology - understanding water and its flow
Chairman Davis asked the committee to put together some thoughts for sub-committees. He
asked that they email him.

Motion by Lisa Dick.
Seconded by Elizabeth Baker.
Vote was Unanimous (6-0).
