PIER REPAIR In attendance to represent agenda item: Brad Holmes/Environmental Consulting and Engineering;Andrew Corry/Owner; Keith WalolHarbor Mooring Documents presented to support agenda item: RDAApplication Due to recent storm damage,the pier presents a safety hazard and the owner is looking to repair or replace pilings and replace decking,bracing and stringers as needed.A Chapter 91 license already exists for the pier and float support. Marine grade replacement pilings will be installed next to existing pilings unless the damage requires that the pilings be completely replaced. No pressure-treated lumber will be used. MOTION: By Member Kennedy to close the public hearing on RDA 18-03 and issue a Negative 3 determination for proposed pier repair work at 29 Stanton Street. SECOND: Vice Chair Creighton VOTE: 4-0 Unanimous 7:20 PM: SHOW CAUSE:136 Border Street/Michael and Mrs.Hurle Agent Summers received a complaint of an unpermitted dock on the above property with no documentation in the building file for any dock construction.Owner Michael Hurley said that the dock is actually an 8'x 25'float that washed up on his property. He alleged the dock is owned by the town and was intended for use at the town wharf but washed up on his lot many years ago. Mr. Hurley had agreed to repair and maintain the dock and allow the Harbormaster to use it when needed. Member Kennedy said it should be the town's responsibility to not only maintain this and other similar floats but see that they are not randomly floating around the harbor and encroaching en private property. Chair Pimpare would like this particular float be hauled back to its original location and fall under the town's purview.The Commission agreed to allow the Hurley's to work with the Harbormaster in order to determine next steps with the dock and the Conservation Agent will follow up as well_ Certificates of Occupancy Issued: NOl 08-37:418 South Main Street, Barszewski,for deck work and landscaping Conservation Agent Report:70 Whitehead Road All the fill has been removed from the property.The owners need to file a restoration plan for landscaping to complete this project. Motion to adjourn:With no further business to discuss,a motion to adjourn at 8:30 pm was made by Member MacFarlane,seconded by Member Kennedy and approved by a vote of 4-0.
