Cohasset Harbor Committee Meeting

Chairman Tim Davis called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Approval of Minutes-Motion by Matt Marr to approve the minutes of 4/25/18,seconded by John
Barrett and the vote was unanimous.
Web site review and instruction: Katie Dugan & Kevin McCarthy Katie Dugan stated they worked with
MAPC to develop a stand-alone Master Plan website. They are able to layer in some information for the
Harbor Committee. The website is www.cohassetmasterplan.com. It helps communicate more broadly.
It is a portal to help keep everyone up to date. They have been posing questions weekly for public input.
They are happy to weave in harbor questions. The Committee had a brief discussion. Michael Dick will
work with Katie Dugan and Kevin McCarthy.
Introduction to Eamon O'Marah-Mr. O'Marah introduced himself and stated his company Harbinger
Development's is under contract to purchase the Atlantica, Cohasset Harbor Inn, the annex building&
22 Margin Street. He gave an overview of his background and discussed their business plan with the
properties. He stated their plans should fit it well with the town's master plan process. They are
reaching out to the community for public outreach. Mr. Davis added that he has been speaking with Mr.
O'Marah for about a month now and all of what they are planning fits in with what the committee has
been discussing for about six months.
Presentation of environmental&ecological issues-Susan Bryant gave an overview of her background
and projects they are working on at CSCR. She discussed eel grass, shell fish, the assets of salt marshes
and wetlands. She discussed what they have protecting the harbor. She spoke about how handle flood
waters in the harbor. She discussed rain gardens,contaminants in the harbor and how to control them.
Mr. Davis asked Ms. Bryant to boil down her presentation to specific issues that she would like for the
Harbor Plan to address.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
