Chairman Tim Davis called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.
Approval of Minutes-Motion by Rolf Gjesteby to approve minutes of 2/7/18,seconded by Tom Norton
and the vote was unanimous.
Suggested Proposals for Objective#1"Support the Cohasset commercial fishing fleet"- Matt Marr and
John Barrett presented the Committee with their 14 proposals for improvements to the needs of the
lobster fleet as follows;
Extend and rebuild pier at Government Island with a conveyor system & hydraulic take out
booms designed to ease the loading and unloading of bait,traps, rope and all necessary
equipment for operations. Must be usable at all tides.
New drive on pier for commercial fishermen at area between Cohasset Sailing Club& Parker
Ave. piers.
�- Designated dinghy dock for commercial mooring holders.
Reconfigure floats at Government Island in order to accommodate more boats.
Fuel tanks on Government Island. Possible to fill your own boats with the use of credit card.
Water&electrical service year round at all commercial docks.
Trash receptacles/dumpsters and oil reclamation station.
Reconfigure docks at Town Landing with conveyor system/take out booms and add more floats
NW towards the inner cove area.
Security cameras in all areas of concern with live video access via smart phone.
Designated area for bait cooler to service all commercial fishermen.
Draft a plan for future dredging needs.
Study mooring field. Determine if it can be reconfigured more efficiently. Maybe,combining a
few moorings to accommodate a few larger vessels. The future of the industry might require
vessels to go further off shore in larger boats.
Harbor web page where you could get current and up to date communications regarding the
Harbor.
Set a date for the deployment of floats/docks for each spring and fall-weather permitting.
The Committee had a lengthy discussion on the proposals.
Update from Harriman-Emily Keys Innes-Senior Urban Planner from Harriman was present and gave an
overview of the project. She reported that weather had been an issue with their site walk. She reviewed
the mapping of the historic points, harbor facilities,waterfront and tidelines jurisdiction.
The Committee agreed to 4/26/18 as the next meeting date.
The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
