In attendance to represent agenda item: Tom Callahan and Susan Playfair
The CCF is proposing two articles, "Scenic Road Designation" and "New Land Alteration"for Town Meeting.
SCENIC ROAD DESIGNATION: areas so designated would be regulated as to development, upgrades, alterations,
utility work and other such activities to preserve existing trees, vegetation and land forms.
NEW LAND ALTERATION: land development and site planning would be responsive to the historic and
aesthetic character of the town while still allowing reasonable development, alterations and other such
activities. The CCF wants to encourage acceptable development that respects the aesthetics of Cohasset. There
was concern that homeowners would lose control over what they can do to their property. Chris McFarlane felt
that wails built within the past 10 years aren't worth saving so the 25-year requirement should be negotiable.
