HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - CC - 05/19/2016 Conservation Commission May 19, 2016 APPROVED MINUTES COHASSET CONSERVATION COMMISSION DATE:THURSDAY, MAY 19, 2016 TIME: 7:00 PM PLACE: COHASSET TOWN HALL, BASEMENT MEETING ROOM 41 HIGHLAND AVE, COHASSET MA 02025 IN ATTENDANCE: Patrick Kennedy(PK), Chair Jack Creighton (JC), Member Patrice Vogelman (PV), Vice Chair Alexander Koines(AK), Member Andrea Buff um,Associate Member Jeff Summers (JS), Conservation Agent ABSENT: Edward Graham (Member) Justin Pimpare (Member) Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM 7:00 PM: 369 Atlantic Avenue-NOI 16-09-Detached Garage : Calderone In attendance to represent agenda item: Mark Calderone• Carmen Hudson CH Cavanaro Consulting; Jane Linder and Mont Phei s abutters• (There is also a Category 1 SWP#16-13 that does not require a public hearing).The home is mostly situated on ledge which will be reduced to allow for width of reconfigured driveway. A brick walkway will be removed and replaced with native plantings. There is also a paved harking area. Abutters were concerned with increased runoff but CH said that all appropriate measures would be taken including downspouts to direct roof runoff away from abutting properties. MOTION: By Member Vogelman to close the public hearing for NOI 16-09 and issue an Order of Conditions for proposed work at 369 Atlantic Avenue. SECOND: By Member Alex Koines VOTE: 5-0 Unanimous MOTION: By Member Vogelman to issue a Stormwater Permit 16-13 for proposed work at 369 Atlantic Avenue with the downspouts taking roof runoff from the new detached garage to be bifurcated and split to run approximately one-half each in easterly and westerly directions. SECOND: By Member Alex Koines VOTE: 5-0 Unanimous SWP 16-14 Administrative-No Public Hearing Required):3488 North Main Street—Charles Riciutti JS said the existing small house was razed and will be rebuilt on a slightly larger footprint but there should be no issue with runoff as the area is mostly pervious surface. Conservation Commission May 19, 2016 Other Business: David Won is interested in a parcel on Beechwood Street but was advised by JS and the commission that it's surrounded by wetlands, is a small lot, and would require a septic system that would further reduce the possible footprint for new construction.
