Harbor Committee-Discuss and Re-vote funds for engineering for Parker Ave. boat ramp-Chairman of
the Harbor Study Committee Tim Davis advised the Committee that he has learned that the funds for
the engineering study for the Parker Ave. boat ramp were approved at Annual Town Meeting last spring.
They do not need a re-vote. The Committee is hoping to have the RFP process starting shortly. They
hope to have the engineering work for the ramp by this fall. They want to move the process forward
because there will be dredging that will be taking place. Mr. Davis gave a quick overview of what
Committee has done. He stated the Harbinger Development Group has a Purchase &Sale agreement to
purchase the Cohasset Harbor Inn and Atlantica. He gave an overview of their proposal which they have
been presenting to various committees.
Affordable Housing Committee-Chairman of Affordable Housing Committee Robert Jeffers-18 Spring
Street gave an overview of what the Committee has been working on over the past year and a potential
project they are considering. They are looking to possibly partner with Habitat for Humanity and
developing 808 Jerusalem Road as a two family home. Chairman Jeffers stated the Committee will
present the idea to the Board of Selectmen at an upcoming meeting. The Committee is wondering if
CPC has interest in getting involved if the project moves forward. After further discussion the
Committee agreed it is in full support of the project.
Cohasset Swim Center-Discuss possible CPC participation in improvements to the Swim Center-Brian
Sasso-135 Sohier Street and Scott Terrio-16 Aberdeen Drive, Scituate were present on behalf of the
Cohasset Swim Center. They gave an overview of what the center does. They are in need of updating
some aging equipment and making some ADA compliance issues. These updates will improve what is
offered to the community for the next 50 years. They plan to do fundraising. They are asking if CPC
would consider being part of the investment and what is needed to submit an application. They are
looking to replace the filtration system within the next 3-5 years and it would cost approximately
$100,000. They would also like to replace the diving board and a few other things. The total of all
improvements should be about $350K-$500K. Chairman Bonetti stated the CPC can contribute to ADA
compliance. He will send a copy of the CPC restrictions. The Committee had a brief discussion about
any critical upgrades. Mr. Sasso will complete an application. Susan Sardina left the meeting at 8:27
p.m.
