Chairman Bonetti called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
Town Hall Building Committee-Discussion &Vote-Town Hall Renovation Project-Chairman of Town
Hall Building Committee Mary McGoldrick and Vice-Chairman Mark Toomey were present. They
reported that the estimate for the town hall project came in higher than the budget. The reason for the
higher price is the delay of the project by one year and having all employees in the new Town Hall and
having a bigger building. They met on Friday with the project managers and Chris Senior for hours and
were able to carve out approximately$840,000 from the project. That said there is still a gap. They are
requesting up to $4 million from CPC. They are hoping that all the Committees can work together to get
this project to the finish line. There are also some other potential ways to save money that they are still
working on. This also does not include potential money coming in over the summer from grants and the
state.
The CPC members had a lengthy discussion about the additional money being requested. They
discussed concerns that the cost may go up higher. Chairman McGoldrick reiterated that the project
manager has done multiple other projects, including town hall renovations, and have stayed on or below
the budget. Rich Fitzpatrick-2 Hammond Avenue stated he has a lot of confidence in the project
committee. The Old Town Hall has to be restored and done correctly to last the next 100 years. There is
no other project in the town that is more important than this one.
Chairman Bonetti read aloud a statement from member Diane Kennedy in support of the proposal.
Motion by Tom Reardon to recommend approval (under MGL Chapter 4413)for CPC funds not to
exceed $4 million for the restoration of Old Town Hall, with $1.5 million from general reserve, and an

CPC fund at the lowest possible interest rate the Town Manager can get, seconded by Michael Dickey.
