He discussed how valuable the pool is to the community. The equipment needs major renovations and they have ADA compliance issues. They discussed the 3 phases of the proposed project. Phase#1 is for the construction of the building (plumbing, shower stalls, basement renovation, electrical and replacing the diving board). They are planning to start in May and have some funds to begin. Phase#2 is equipment for the pool. The filtration system needs to be replaced. The new system will help save water and keep the integrity of the water. They will be adding an automated chemical control system. They also need stainless steel gutters. Phase#3 is a facelift and ADA compliance lifts and natural gas heating system to help them have a longer season. Kari O'Donnell asked why they aren't doing the ADA Lifts in the first phase. Mr.Terrio said they are taking a disciplined approach by doing it in phases. After a brief discussion, he agreed that it would beneficial to add the ADA lifts to the first phase. Mr.Terrio stated they have filed for the building permit, had discussions with the Board of Health, the Building Inspector and the Water Department. The members discussed the proposed funding, which would be a 50/50 split between CPC and the Swim Center. Mr.Terrio added there will not be any increases in fees. Chairman Bonetti asked if they have investigated any grants for the ADA compliance. Mr.Terrio said they have not. Chairman Bonetti asked if they added any contingency for the cost estimates.
