Treasurer's Report:
Elaine is on vacation. At the end of April, we have spent 75% of the
budget. Town meeting approved purchase of 2 vans. Also approved the
revolving fund up to 100k. Tax credits for seniors were passed by the
state. Now town can adopt them. Need to repair brake system on Van 4.
Coral will meet with Carl Sestito about purchasing the vans.
Awnings - if we bought free standing they would come out of gift account,
if they were attached to building would be capital improvement and go
through TM.
Garden Club - planted long boxes in front of building. Launch will be
doing the gardening 3x a week.
Treasurer's report accepted.
Director's Report:
Amy Dilillo will be doing hand/shoulder message during the Mother's
Day lunch. We are expecting 65 people. Delores Roy will make beautiful
flower vases. Anna will cook a lovely meal.
There have been changes in the vehicle inspection costs. $150 to inspect
vans.
Open Business:
Voted unanimously to adopt new bylaws. Next meeting will be the annual
meeting. 3 Voting members (Paul, Taffy, and Diane) will renew their
seats. 2 Associate members (Sarah, Beth) also will stay on. At the June
annual meeting we will vote for officers.
On your tax bill there is a box you can check to defray the cost of property
tax for seniors. The new finance director said town has instituted a trust
account for those taxes. Most people have mortgages that pay their taxes
so they never see the bill to check that box. The question becomes how
many seniors take advantage of these tax credits. Some town employees
go out and visit elders who could qualify based on income. Who is in
charge of the vetting, and how can we help?
Liaison Reports:
Veterans - Phil Mahoney - Memorial Day is coming up. On 5/19, flags
and markers will be placed on graves. Medallions were damaged and will
be replaced. Healing field will be down by the harbor. 5/25 The Historical
Society will hold the 100th anniversary of WW 1. Five Cohasset residents
were killed in that war. 5/26 Dedication of the Healing Fields at 1:00.
Monday will be the parade (5/28).
Police - Jeff Treanor - Patrolman Alex Stotik will attend the Police
Academy in Sept. Rudy Helbock is going to the NY Transit Police. And

Meeting adjourned @ 9:32 am.

Respectfully submitted,
Elinore Barrett, Secretary
