MINUTES
In Attendance: Elinore Barrett, Tana Carlson, Elaine Coyne, Paul Kierce,
Diane Karcher, James Mensching, Taffy Nothnagle, Sue Reagan, Rich
Hynes, Sarah Livermore, Beth Tarpey
Not in Attendance: Jim Carpenter
Liaisons: Katie Dugan, Lisa Uglialoro

Paul Kierce called the meeting to order at 8:37 am.
Correction to May minutes - expenditures were $20,000 in April.
Minutes were accepted.
Paul welcomed our new associate members, Sarah Livermore and Beth
Tarpey.
Treasurer's Report:
We have spent 84% of the fiscal year 2017 budget.
11 months into 2017 budget. $45k left, with large payroll in June.
Decrease for newsletter and gas and diesel.
Trust account holds $5500. Town has contacted the town attorney to
convert the monies in the town general acct (for tax assistance for
seniors) to be put in our elders account.
Broadcasting equipment added to our budget.
TM is putting together a new process for pay raises for town employees
Treasurer's report accepted.
Director's Report:
Tomorrow at 6 there will be a dedication of a painting in memory of
Martha Ogrodnik.
There will be a Virtual Tour of Dementia in September sponsored by SSES
and SSH.
We were part of a kindergarten field day along with Police, Fire & Library.
We are planning a 1001h birthday party for Mary Edmonds on 8/24 @ 12.
POW chair has arrived, purchased by the VFW. Platform built and
donated by local supporter. Dedication will be sometime in September.
Launch program will weed &water 2-3 times a week.
Liaison Reports:
School Committee - Katie Dugan - rolling out digital learning strategic
plan. Hired an Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent will stay on.
Town Management - Lisa Uglialoro - Selectman's meeting tomorrow. 2
new Associates from our board will be sworn in.
In July there will be a training session for board and committee members.
Starting FY18, will start staff training program once a month.
Swim Center - Diane Karcher - Pool opening is Friday. Installed new
steps from parking lot to pool. Moving forward to ADA accessibility.
Affordable Housing - Sue Regan & Paul Kierce - putting together a report
to go to Selectmen on how to spend money that has been established by
builders to go toward affordable housing. Town voted to either build
affordable or put in a fund with the housing authority. 40B - 10% of our
housing is affordable. Affordable housing needs to be deeded by law for
30 years.
Open Business:
Diane Karcher will become voting member. Sue Regan, Tana Carlson,
Elinore Barrett are up for renewal.
Paul spoke to TM about after hours' use of the building. It's a process. Use
of interior of building only if a town employee is present. Local non-
profits are allowed for the first couple of years of opening. Taffy
Nothnagle asked about Special Olympics using the Bocce court after
hours.
Paul handed out by-laws for Elder Affairs. We will review at July's
meeting and vote in September.
