MINUTES
In attendance: Paul Kierce, Tana Carlson, Elinore Barrett, Elaine Coyne, Harry St. Onge, Jim Mensching,
Susan Reagan, Ed Mulvey, Cindy Swartwood, Taffy Northnagle, Coral Grande
Liaisons: Sandra Halverson, Joan Brown, Jeff Treanor
Absent: Bebe McCarron, Kelli Gildea
Paul Kierce, Chairman, opened the meeting at 8:35 am.
Minutes of September's meeting, change under the Directors report should read the audit went well.
Minutes accepted.
Liaison Reports
Jeff Treanor, CPD - In process of creating individualized Senior IDs, a flash drive or CD that holds medical
information for an elder that can be downloaded by EMTs or other personnel in case of a medical
emergency.
Joan Brown - Friends of Elder Affairs meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 9.
Sandra Halverson - CEA Board will be touring new building after this meeting
SSL is in process of developing an alcohol &substance abuse
Coalition in Cohasset

Ongoing Business Updates
1. CEA was awarded the Formula Grant in the amount of$13,504 which was used to hire apart time
Transportation Assistant,who works 19 hours per week. The position terminates at end of
FY15. (June 30, 2014).
2. The Town is working on the process of opening the new senior center, hopefully by January 2015.
Will appear as a warrant at the special town meeting.
Director's report
1. Siobhan Lynch was hired as the new Transportation Assistant, courtesy of the Formula Grant.
2. TRIAD - Because emergency management is so strong in Cohasset, many of the tasks that fell to
TRIAD are now handled by the CEM. However, TRIAD is now refocused on the Cohasset Senior
ID program, having a table and signing people up at all Flu Clinics, as well as recruiting people
to participate in the RUOK program sponsored by the Norfolk County Sheriff's Dept.
3. Received Cohasset Cares grant, working in conjunction with the CFD, providing smoke detectors,
tread repairs, nightlights, bath mats, etc. for seniors to remain safely in their homes
4. Received Ed Lappen Foundation Grant for CO detectors.
5. Attended Generator and Emergency Console training at Cohasset Emergency Management
6. South Shore Communities Veterans' Benefits Forum will be held at St.Anthony's, Cohasset,
Saturday, November 8th, 9-1
7. MCOA Annual Conference is being held in Falmouth this week
8. Annual Report for EOEA completed
9. Working with Anna, Richie, and Elinore on start-up supply list for kitchen in the new center.
