MINUTES
In Attendance: Elinore Barrett, Jim Carpenter, Elaine Coyne, Rich Hynes,
Sarah Livermore, Taffy Nothnagle, Sue Reagan, Beth Tarpey
Not in Attendance: Tana Carlson, Diana Karcher, Paul Kierce
Also Attending: Nancy LaFauce
Elaine Coyne, Treasurer called the meeting to order at 8:35 am.
September minutes accepted.
Treasurer's Report:
FYE 2019 reports have been finalized. Reclass adjustments that we had
requested with respect to the Gift funds were all made and posted.
YTD expenditures are in line with FYE 2020, we have expended 22%.
Receipts in revolving Fund are averaging 3K a month, because
programming has increased.
Accepted.
Director's Report:
Thank you to the Friends who purchased new mats for the kitchen.
Willcutt was open as a charging station on 10/17 during the storm. 20
people used the facility.
Collaborating with Hingham Elder Services to provide a hearing support
group. Looking for a facilitator.
Volunteer fair being held here on Tuesday. All the town "community
programs" will be present.
New Intergenerational Game night with safe harbor ambassadors and
other CHS students to play board games here on 11/12, 4-5:30, then pizza
from 5:30-6:30.
Cribbage now being played on Thursday afternoons and open game room
on Friday mornings.
Bereavement support group for 6 weeks with Brookhaven hospice
beginning 11/5.
Thanksgiving luncheon will be on 11/14.
December 5 the Community Garden Club will host their annual house tour
from here. Everyone welcome. Atlantica and Red Lion will offer a buffet
between 11-4 for $25. Reservations are recommended.
Age and Dementia Friendly Cohasset has been accepted by AARP and
MCOA. Nettie will offer a presentation on Wed. 11/6.
395 individuals visited over 1000 times in Sept. participating in 37
programs. Volunteers delivered 322 meals last month to 16 homebound
seniors and 83 riders enjoyed over 447 rides last month to shopping,
errands, outings and medical appointments. This is an increase of more
than 15% for individuals and 20% for riders over this time last year.
Liaison Reports:
Housing Authority - Taffy - We have signed an agreement with Norwell.
Starting 11/1, the Executive Director of Norwell will be here part time and
we will share staff. Jill is still out and the Norwell maintenance staff has
been helping out. We signed a contract for our new building that will
replace 4-bedroom group home; ground breaking will be 11/30.
SSL - Elinore - Launch has received grant from SSL for a Senior Concierge
Services at 60 Elm. SSL is funding a part time social worker for the town.
Safe Harbor - Sarah - completed its 1st adult survey. Have had 30 events
already this school year talking about opioid prevention.
Open Business:
Elinore - Jim Murphy was introduced as an associate member. Welcome
on board, Jim!
