MINUTES
In Attendance: Elinore Barrett, Tana Carlson, Jim Carpenter, Elaine Coyne,
Rich Hynes, Diana Karcher, Paul Kierce, Taffy Nothnagle, Beth Tarpey
Not in Attendance: Sarah Livermore, Sue Reagan
Also Attending: Nancy LaFauce
Paul Kierce, Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:37 am.
June minutes accepted.
BOS set up the committee to disburse funds in trust accounts. Tana,
Sarah, and Elaine from our Board and 2 town employees will make up the
committee and set up guidelines.
Treasurer's Report:
We show a total net under-spent budget for fiscal 2019 of approximately
$19k. Mostly due to payroll because of the Assistant Director's position.
All but $406 was spent from the Formula grant. There is an available
balance of$24,622 in the revolving account that will be carried over to
fiscal 2020.
Quality Van Sales in Taunton will evaluate wheel chair van for upgrades.
TM wants to set up a fleet plan schedule to take care of the vans.
Treasurer's report accepted.
Director's Report:
TM approved Formula Grant disbursement. Approved Nettie @
15hrs/week as Program Assistant to develop Age Friendly & Dementia
Friendly Cohasset, National Senior Center Certification and the Aging
Mastery 10 week workshop.
Code of Conduct reviewed. Working on policies and procedures to
become nationally certified.
Father's Day cookout was a great success with over 70 guests. We are
now including the Dollar Store/Michael's trip to our transportation
schedule.
Steve Glenzel was hired as a P/T driver.
Baby Boomers and Friends live concert on July 23ra.
Cookout with Sheriff McDermott on Jul 31St.
Steve Bowen will present next Tues. 6:30 -8.
Kennebunkport bus trip tomorrow with Norwell and Scituate - 54
participants.
Transported 41 riders in June for a total of 418 rides to medical and
shopping trips. We delivered 323 meals to 15 seniors. We served 273
individuals through 35 events for over 900 program attendance.
Liaison Reports:
Swim Center - Diana - A reminder to park our vans to the far corner of
the lot for the summer months. Construction has stopped for the
summer.
Housing Authority - Taffy -Katherine Luna passed. She was with us for
12 years. Still have interim Director for 18 hrs a week. Working on
management agreement with other towns. Agreed with bid on new bldg,
4 units will be affordable.
Affordable - Paul - Proposed to selectman to cut back board 9 members
to 7 so we can make quorum more often. Meetings are held every other
month. $250k grant to repair culverts in town parking lot/common. We
have a new Town Planner. Also in need of Veterans housing.
Veterans - Rich - Memorial Day was great!
Open Business:
Tana/Paul - Board seat updates - We have 3 applications for 1 open
associate member seat. They have to go to Town Hall and apply.
