HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - CBC - 12/09/2019 Capital Budget Committee December 9, 2019 Minutes Approved 1/13/2020 5-0 CBC Members Present: Wakeman, Dormitzer, Franklin, Host, Lyons Mr. Wakeman opened the meeting at 1900 with the above quorum present. Fire Department - Chief Silvia Ambulance Cot $60,572 The department has a Stryker Power Load Ambulance Cot System in one of its ambulances. This request is to outfit a second ambulance with this system. This equipment has a operating life of 12 years which is equivalent to that of an ambulance (these units can be taken out and placed in other vehicles). The reasons for obtaining the initial cot were largely to protect staff from injury, and that has been the case. Ambulance Replacement $244,220 The Chief presented a request to purchase a 2020 F450 Class 1 Advanced Life Support Ambulance to replace the 2008 Ford/Osage- E450 Classl (Transport) Advanced Life Support Ambulance. If replaced, 2020 would become the front line unit, the 2008 would be sold, and the current 2014 front line unit would become a backup unit and a mechanical spare. This is in accordance with the established rolling replacement waterfall where front line units have a 6-year life before transitioning to backup/spare units. Repairs to Engine2 $23,000 A request was submitted to repair the 2010 Pierce 1,500 GPM Pumping Engine/Rescue/Class V (non-transport) Advanced Life Support Ambulance used by the CFD. There is significant rusting and corrosion to the frame, chassis, and abutting body areas on the underside of the apparatus and repairs would extend the serviceable life of the unit (current age is 10yrs and the estimated serviceable life is 24 years) Police Department - Chief Quigley Replacement Cruisers -$100,000 The Chief presented a request to purchase two new cruisers to replace older units in accordance with the established vehicle replacement program. The department operates 12 units and transitions front line units to replace older units utilized in capacities other than front line vehicles. A 2009 Crown Victoria will be removed from service. There being no further business we voted to adjourn at 19:40PM Respectfully submitted Susan Franklin
