Present: John Donohue, Ralph Dormitzer, Brian Host, Nathan Redmann, Sam Wakeman Chief Silvia explained the desire to accelerate corrosion repairs to ladder truck so these could be done at the same time as the accident repair. Our vote to recommend would allow the Advisory Committee to provide emergency funding to accomplish both repairs. Moved and seconded: recommend approval of corrosion repairs to ladder truck in the amount of $44,000.00. voted 4-0. Elder Affairs presented information on van usage and their desire to purchase or lease a replacement for van 1 which is currently out of service(transmission replacement $6- 7000). There was much discussion about usage. It was agreed that Elder Affairs ne4eds to get a "fleet management model" in place. Brian Host and John Donohue agreed to assist with this. Recreation brought forward their request for additional funding for the modular shed at Milliken Field. The request to Capital Budget is for $25,000. There was some discussion over maintenance and cleaning but that seemed to be taken care of. DPW presented a number of projects. The sidewalk snowplow demonstrations were discussed. CB advised that it needs a demonstration of Bobcat and Ventrac similar to the Chameleon and Trackless demos. Brian Joyce took under advisement and would try to arrange. The purchase of a larger dump truck to replace a ford 450 was discussed. The larger unit will allow the town to plow main roads efficiently, cart away larger refuse, place hot box on truck for road repair. It would also allow the town to reduce the usage of outside contractors. The replacement of the salt shed would allow purchase of larger quantities at advantage prices, allow mixing sand and salt inside, and replace a deficient and rotting structure. CB requested Brian Joyce to check state approved vendor list and get detailed info on structure and placement. Brian agreed to investigate what effect use of Brine would have on the use of salt. Repair/replacement of fuel depot was discussed. CB would like information on capability and output available from proposed program. The necessary replacement of pumps and management system is approximately $28,000. The canopy at $50,000 would be nice but not absolutely necessary. We plan on starting voting on our recommendations on Monday March 6. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 2210. Respectfully submitted Samuel W Wakeman
