PLACE: COHASSET TOWN HALL—Board of Health Conference Room 41 HIGHLAND AVENUE, COHASSET, MA 02025 Board Members Present: Public Health Agent: Robin Lawrence, DDS, MPH, Chairman Pam Fahey, MPH Lynn Doxey, MPH, Vice Chair Field Engineer: Michael Pollastri, PhD, Clerk Jason Federico Recording Secretary: Public Health Nurse: Amy Davis Mary Goodwin, RN 7:00 P.M. Meeting called to order 7:01 P.M. Revise Title 5 Regulations Ms. Fahey contacted engineer John Cavanaro, Cavanaro Consulting, in regards to removing the garbage grinder deed restriction from the Cohasset Title 5 Supplemental Regulations. Mr. Cavanaro was unable to attend tonight's meeting but responded to Ms. Fahey by email. Mr. Cavanaro reached out to his engineering staff and the staff agreed with Ms. Fahey that in surrounding towns which Cavanaro Consulting works with a deed restriction for a garbage grinder is not required.The Board agreed to take out the regulation that a deed restriction for garbage grinder is required. Ms. Fahey will post a notice for a public hearing and schedule the hearing for the next Board of Health meeting on Monday September17, 2018. MOTIONED BY: Dr. Lawrence purposed that the Board of Health prepare a notice of public hearing concerning the use of a garbage grinder in septic systems. SECONDED BY: Dr. Michael Pollastri VOTE: 3-0 MOTIONED CARRIED 7:15 P.M. Follow-up Atlantica Ms. Fahey met with the new manager, Heinrich Lutjens, for Atlantica, Red lion Inn, Brisa, and Salt House. The manager gave Ms. Fahey a list of employees who took the ServSafe class and received their certifications as requested by the Board. 7:20 P.M. Approve Meeting Minutes from July 17, 2018 MOTIONED BY: Dr. Lawrence moved to approve the meeting minutes from the July 17, 2018 SECONDED BY: Lynn Doxey VOTE: 3-0 MOTIONED CARRIED 7:22 P.M. Approved the Warrant— Members signed the warrant for 7/17/18 to 8/21/18 7:24 P.M. Set Next Meeting Date Monday September 17, 2018 at 6:OOP.M. APROVED 7:26 P.M. Public Health Agent Report Materials used for this agenda item: Public Heath Report August 2018(see attached). Ms. Fahey reviewed items in her report. • Food: Atlantica:All employees have undergone ServSafe training.A new manager Heinrich Lutjens,formerly employed by Gerd Ordelheide, is now overseeing Atlanctica operations. The HVAC system has been fixed and hoods have been serviced. Food is now properly being labeled in refrigerators. Feng Shui: has been consistently spraying for pests and sending the reports to the BOH office. Evidence of roaches was not observed during a follow up inspection this week. • Beach Testing: Bassing Beach was closed for a week due to a high geomean calculation. Ms. Fahey collected re-test samples at high tide out in the harbor rather than off the dock and results improved. The actual testing location should be out beyond the breakwater and next year Ms. Fahey will recommend CSCR to collect samples from the state designated locations. • 355 Atlantic Avenue: The Board of Health just learned the home has a 1,000 gallon cesspool though it is connected to sewer. Bob Egan, Cohasset Building Commissioner, called the homeowner today (August 20, 2018)and will send a letter to let them know that they must disconnect from the cesspool immediately. • 380 Chief Justice Cushing Highway Septic: Saturday August 11, 2018 Ms. Fahey was called about "heavy steam"that was being emitted from sewer covers at 380 CJC Highway.The attached timeline summarizes the events and communication since the event. Ms. Fahey drafted a letter for the property owner for the Board to review. 7:50 P.M. Public Health Nurse Report for July Materials used for this agenda item: Public Health Nurse July 2018 Report (see attached). Mary Goodwin reviewed the report for the Board. Ms. Goodwin had been busy doing camp inspections and wrapping up summer camps.There was a presentation at library on mosquitos. The West Nile Virus rate has been increased to a moderate level due to high counts of mosquitos testing positive in pools around town. Human cases have not been reported in Cohasset. Flu vaccines have arrived Ms. Goodwin will be starting flu clinics soon.The Cohasset teachers will be included in the vaccinations this year 8: 15 P.M.
