COHASSET BOARD OF HEALTH MINUTES

7:00 P.M. Meeting called to order
7:02 P.M. Atlantica Food Violations
In attendance for this hearing: Joanne Nardo, Finance Director/ General Manager of the Gerd Ordelheide
owned properties in Cohasset, Cristiano Reginalos, Chef at Atlantica, and Robert Egan, Cohasset Building
Commissioner.
Pamela Fahey, Cohasset Board of Health Agent, reviewed repeat violations going back as far as a year ago.
Food is not being labeled properly after opening, missing expiration dates, and holes in plastic wrap covering
food. Ms. Nardo has ordered air tight containers with labels to have staff label food properly. Ms. Fahey and
the Board agreed that ServSafe needs to train the staff at Atlantica, Brisa, and the Red Lion within 2 weeks.
MOTION BY: Dr. Lawrence made a recommendation that Mr. Ordelheide hire a consultant
specialist who will train staff from all his properties in regards to refrigeration, labeling,
and storage within 2 weeks.

7:21 P.M. Public Health Agent Report

Pam Fahey reviewed all items in her report.
• Food: Feng Shui had food violations that need to be corrected within 2 weeks. Ms. Fahey will do a
re-inspection on July 5, 2018.
• Beach Testing: Beaches have remained open so far.One exceedance was reported at Bassing Beach,
but the re-test result was acceptable. Cohasset Coastal Research Center (CSCR) may conduct
research to determine if there is a relationship between detected bacterial concentrations and the
tides. (Samples are always collected on Tuesday Mornings regardless of high vs. low tide.)
• Town Hall:At the request of the Town Manager, indoor air testing for mold was conducted on June
111h by ASAP Environmental and chemical testing using Summa canisters was conducted on June
12th. Water sampling of bubblers and faucets will be conducted tomorrow,June 20th. Both the air
samples and water samples collected by Ms. Fahey will be analyzed by Alpha Analytical
Laboratories.The purpose is to determine if there are human health risks associated with the Town
Hall Building conditions.

• Emergency Preparedness: Ms. Fahey attended a 4A/4B meeting in Burlington on June 7t". The
meeting discussed budgets and options to purchase phones for emergency use through its grant.
Stakeholders in the town, as well as Ms. Fahey and Ms. Goodwin, attended a two night Climate
Change Vulnerability Assessment meeting. Various groups identified major issues facing the town
including protecting and maintaining the electrical grid during storms, emergency communication
with vulnerable residents, managing storm water, and protecting drinking water sources.
7:28 P.M Public Health Nurse Report
Mary Goodwin, Public Health Nurse, gave a verbal report to the board for the month of May. Ms. Goodwin
mentioned that there have been reports of tick borne illnesses from residents. Camps have started around
town. Ms. Goodwin also explained that the state has made some amendments to current camp regulations.
The State wants to assure the Health Care Consultant visiting the different camps to train and observe the
staff. Senior housing just got new heating and air conditioning in the units.
7:34 P.M. Mr. Pollastri wanted to follow up with the discussion the board had about Start School
Later Cohasset at the May 29th meeting. Mr. Pollastri volunteered to write an article for the local paper in
regards to Start School Later.
7:37 P.M. Approve Meeting Minutes from April 24, 2018 Meeting
The meeting minutes from the April 24, 2018 meeting were not approved. The board will approve them at the
July 17, 2018 meeting.
7:39 P.M. Approved the Warrant—Members signed the Warrant for 5/2/18 to 5/25/18
7:43 P.M. Set Next Meeting Date Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 7:OOP.M.
