Ms. Prentice would like to get a food permit so she can apply for a camp permit before the camps start. Ms. Sullivan gave Ms. Prentice a list of supplies to purchase at Restaurant Depot in Avon, which Ms. Prentice did purchase. The only item still on the list to accomplish is a separate hand washing sink in the kitchen of the farmhouse. HHF will hire a plumber when they have funds to install it. Ms. Sullivan suggested installing the handwashing sink near the bathroom in the farm house for easy hook up to the plumbing. Ms. Sullivan would like this installed in one year. The dishwasher has been installed. There is a small refrigerator that meets the code with temperature; however, a larger refrigerator will be purchased when HHF raises the funds. The food from the farm is used to make snacks and there are limited leftovers so small amounts need to be refrigerated. The refrigerator for the farmhouse is used by farm staff and the small refrigerator is for HHF only. Once the food permit is issued, the camps will then be permitted after the application is submitted. The campers will be involved in the preparation of the food following the ServSafe guidelines that teach the campers basic food safety. Ms. Sullivan requires anyone touching the food to wear gloves, shoes or bare feet are prohibited in the kitchen (socks are ok) and sick children are not allowed at the camp. As of right now the classes comprise less than ten campers. FINAL APPROVED A conversation concerning the mobile food truck will be scheduled at a later date. The concerns of the Board: the truck is extremely small for campers, and hot water for hand washing is non-existent. The concern for HHF: should the mobile food truck not be permitted, HHF will need to return the truck before August or there will be financial penalty.
