7:05 P.M. 358 BEECHWOOD STREET—FAILED SEPTIC DISPOSAL SYSTEM
In attendance for this meeting: Rayna Minder of 358 Beechwood Street
Ms. Sarni received a Title 5 Inspection report on 5/11/16 stating the septic system at 358 Beechwood
Street failed. Typically, the homeowners have two years to replace the system unless there is a public
health issue. The cesspool is located in Mill Lane and within 50' buffer. The homeowner's daughter
contacted Old Colony for a betterment loan to replace the failing septic system. Morse Engineering is
designing a new system to be placed on 358 Beechwood Street lot which will be ready in three to four
weeks. Rosano Davis pumped the system in January. Currently, three people live there. Ms. Sarni
suggested pumping the system again so the usage can be evaluated and preventative measures can be
taken. Once Morse Engineering's plan is approved by the Board of Health, Ms. Minder will provide Old
Colony with three bids from local installers for the 1500 gallon tank. Ms. Sarni will compose a letter
stating:
• the system pumped for usage evaluation
• contact DPW to fence off the area on Mill Lane that is bubbling up
• put a sign to let people know to stay out of the fenced in area
• contact Morse Engineering to let them know this is an emergency
