PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE REPORT: Nurse Reports: 68 • Home Reports: 6 • Office Visits: 62 Communicable Disease Reports: 0 Keep Well Clinics: • CEAWillcutt Commons: 8 Clients • Harborview: 8 Clients • Community Outreach/Meetings: • Wellness Committee meeting with Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA) Representative to discuss a $10,000 Wellness Grant called "Working on Wellness" from Massachusetts Department of Public Health(MDPH) • Massachusetts Association of Public Health Nurses (MAPHN)Quarterly board meeting • Cohasset Cares Program home visits made with Cohasset Fire Department to 2 homes. Safety evaluations and"file for life"cards updated 7:13 P.M. DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC HEALTH REPORT Mandatory Food Training Cindy Rice, President of Eastern Food Safety, conducted a 2 hour training at The Light Keepers House on January 11 & 13, 2016. A representative from each of the 55 food establishments attended and received their 2016 Food Permits at the meeting. State Sanitary Code Chapter II Director, Public Nurse and Elder Service were notified of a hoarding case and conducted a site visit on December 21, 2015. Susan Sarni wrote an order for the egresses to be cleared and the heating system to be repaired. A second Board of Health Meeting APPROVED 2 of 2 January 19,2016 site visit in January showed the homeowner making progress on the egress and the heating system was repaired. A third visit will be conducted within the week. 7:15 P.M. DISCUSSION OF TOWN REPORT The Board reviewed the Annual Public Health Nurse Report 2015 and the Public Health Report 2015 for the Town's Annual Report. 7:16 P.M. 41 BEECHWOOD STREET—NEW SEPTIC DISPOSAL PLAN REVIEW In attendance for this Agenda Item: Jeff Hassett , Morse En ing eering; Joan and John Kenney of 53 Beechwood Street Items for this Agenda Item: Morse Engineering Plan Labeled Job 15-435, Dated 10/29/15,Revised 11/18/15 A 4 bedroom home is proposed at the property of 41 Beechwood Street. Jeff Hassett explained the Conservation Commission has approved the Storm Water Permit. Robin Lawrence notice the system was narrow and questioned Mr. Hassett if the system could be elongated and be H2O loading. Mr. Hassett also made a suggestion the driveway could be shaped in more of an arc. He explained there isn't normally a vent but since the driveway will be over a portion of the leaching field,Morse's plan includes one vent. Joan Kenney wanted to know if this system was going to be used for two homes and Mr. Morse confirmed that this system is for one house. The leaching field must be excavated before the house is built. Tobacco Discussion In attendance for this Agenda Item: Amanda Thompson, Reporter at Cohasset Mariner; Sarah McColgan, Massachusetts Health Officers Association; Larissa Swenson,Bay State Community Services The legal age in Cohasset is 18 to purchase tobacco and the Board would like to increase that age to 21. The Board would like to change the fines for selling to a minor: Fines for Selling Tobacco to a Minor (Up to Age 21) Current Fines Proposed Fines 1st Offense: $100 $300 with 3 day Permit Suspension 2nd Offense: $200 $300 with a 7 day Permit Suspension 3rd Offense: $300 $300 with a 30 day Permit Suspension Currently, there are seven establishments with tobacco permits issued. The BoH would like to cap that number to seven. Cohasset Board of Health would like to restrict the sale of flavored tobacco to Adult Only establishments. The next step to changing Cohasset's Tobacco Regulations is to have a public hearing, which includes a legal notice in the local paper, and sending a copy of the legal notice to the current permit holders with a copy of the proposed new tobacco regulations. 8:00 P.M.
