Public Health Nurse Report:
• MG has conducted inspections at Holly Hill Farm, Cohasset Sports Complex and Gymnastics, Sport and
More Camp at SS Community Center, Casa Del Sol Tanning Salon
• Ran a Sun Awareness Program with a melanoma camera at Sandy Beach, the Town Pool and The Farmers
Market in collaboration with Children's Melanoma Prevention Foundation
• Met with Cohasset Safe Harbor Drug Coalition and Christine Murphy to discuss regional awareness of drug
abuse for population under 18
• Wellness Committee Meeting at Cohasset Town Hall
• Taught Disaster Medicine to CERT class
• Met with Cohasset Cares team to discuss program goals
• Oriented (6) Flu clinic volunteers
• Attended a Massachusetts Association of Public Health Nurses (MAPHN)chapter meeting in Needham
• Provided information concerning an existing regulation requiring automatic external defibrillator devices in
Health Clubs
Chairperson Report:
SS and RL met with the Cohasset Water Commission (CWC)at the CWC public meeting this month. They will also
be meeting with the Sewer Commission, and Conservation Commission to share what each Department's role is in
future projects.
7:20 PM—DSCP HEARING/114 FOREST AVENUE—

• In attendance for this Agenda Item: Kevin Grady(KG), Grady Engineering
KG is proposing a new septic design for a proposed single family 4 bedroom colonial home. Greg Morse (GM),
originally submitted this plan in September 2012 and KG made minor revisions for the new septic plan. KG is
proposing a 1500 Septic tank, distribution box,with (2)55' long ADS bio-diffuser chamber trenches off the back of the
house. Conservation Commission and Storm Water Commission have closed hearings and issued orders.

Public Health Director Report:
Drug Coalition:
SS is reviewing a Drug Free Community(DFC)Support Program Grant for 2016 for a$125,000 for 5 years. The grant
would be to hire an educator for the youth population. This is separate from the regional Safe Harbor Drug Coalition.
The goal is to educate Cohasset residents less than 18 years of age about drug abuse.
792 Jerusalem Road:
Department heads meeting revealed there was not adequate roadway for the (2)new dwellings at this address.
Cohasset Fire has not signed off on the plans. Conservation Commission is revisiting the Storm Water Permits that

were issued. There are(2)applications for potable wells that will not be signed off until all other Departments have
been satisfied. On October 7,2015 Paul Shea composed a letter to all departments addressing all these issues. In
2008 a shared septic system was approved for this site.
Food Inspections:
SS will continue to inspect food establishments.
Food Permit Fees:
SS proposed changing the fee structure to mimic the 2013 Food Code based on a Risk scale 1-5.The permit
increase overall is going from$8500 in 2015 to$12,000 in 2016. With the additional funds, SS is planning to hire a
certified food inspector to inspect the establishments twice per year and is proposing training to be completed by at
least(1)employee from each establishment. SS will oversee the critical issues for the 3rd inspection and follow up to
make sure the food codes are being followed. The CY 2016 permit applications will be mailed out mid-November.

ADMINISTRATION
Cohasset has been awarded 2014 Water Fluoridation Quality Award by the Federal Center for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC)and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
SS and CD discussed the organizing of the BOH files and the anticipation of moving the office to the first floor.
