recreational camps, presented the Sun Awareness Program to the Sailing Club and participated in a webinar—
"Health &Medical Coordinating"—sponsored by the MDPH. The department received$16,000 in Medicare
reimbursements (cost was$8,000)to be deposited into the General Fund. FZ said that Scott the intern is presenting
his project on fluoridation at Tufts next week.
7:30 PM SOCIAL WORKER DISCUSSION/MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES UPDATE
MG spoke with the Norwell VNA about partnering for a social worker but it is not an option. FZ suggested a
Community Health Worker which is a trained, non-licensed individual. MC and MG agree that we should define the
needs of the community before going forward. EK said the police suggested cards to pass out at"situations"with
contact information for family services, counseling etc.
8:00 PM DSCP HEARING& POSSIBLE LOCAL UPGRADE APPROVAL: CONTINUED TO 918/14
8:15 PM DSCP HEARING—NEW CONSTRUCTION—139 FOREST AVENUE:APPLICANT/OWNER DR. ROGER
POMPEO/REPRESENTATIVE JEFF YOUNGQUIST, OUTBACK ENGINEERING
This property contains six lots;the owner resides on one of the lots. He is looking to develop two other lots for
eventual sale. There is an appeal pending on the property so nothing can be done but at this time the owner wants to
establish his options. At one point the owner received a phone call from his attorney saying that the abutters' notices
had never been sent out. At this point the public hearing ceased, all prior discussion and votes were rendered moot
and the hearing was continued to the next BOH meeting on Monday, September 8.
8:45 PM STAGECOACH WAY—POSSIBLE NUISANCE VIOLATION
This is the alleyway in the Village District connecting South Main Street with the municipal lot. RL reported that it is
overgrown, manhole covers are missing, there is trash and it is a public health nuisance.
90 Doane Street: FZ went with a police escort to investigate complaints of trash and junk in the front yard. The
owners have been cited for a"Free TV"in front yard. Also, there is a unit in the house being rented which is not
allowed. The matter has been turned over to Bob Egan, Building Inspector.
91 Nichols Road:Yerardi
The house is occupied but has no sewer. The owner is required to connect to sewer but refuses to do so. FZ says
that technically the house can be condemned. The owner would be required to appear before the Board at the next
meeting for a condemnation hearing. MC suggested getting an opinion from Town Manager Chris Senior before any
action is taken.
With no further business to discuss, motion was made and approved to adjourn at 9:30 p.m.
