Chairman Kennedy called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. Roll Call Vote; Kevin McCarthy-Present,
Diane Kennedy-Present,Jack Keniley-Present.
Public Comment-None.
Licenses/Permits/Events-One Day License-South Shore Art Center-Event cancelled.
Entertainment License-Bia Bistro Representative Tom Hoadley was present on behalf of owner Brian
Houlihan requesting a license for live acoustic music indoors and outdoors on the new patio. Selectman
McCarthy recused himself from the meeting as his daughter is an employee. Selectman Schubert
arrived. Selectman Keniley stated he has a concern with having outdoor amplified music with the
neighbors. Mr. Hoadley stated they are looking to use amplifiers to project better sound not louder
sound. They are looking to have it during brunch time. The Board had a brief discussion and agreed that
issuing a license for outdoor amplified music would be an issue. They haven't allowed it with other
businesses. Mr. Hoadley stated they would be willing to just apply for the indoor license at this time.
Chairman Kennedy suggested the Board vote on the license for indoor entertainment only through the
reminder of the year. The Board will be renewing annual licenses in December and can discuss further
at that point. Motion by Selectman Keniley to approve the license for indoor entertainment for Bia
Bistro,seconded by Selectman Schubert and the vote was unanimous(3-0).
Holiday Stroll-Chamber of Commerce-Larry Curthell was present on behalf of the Chamber. They have
recently revamped the Chamber and membership is going up. Everyone is excited, and they are hoping
to have a great event on December 8t". He gave the details of the event. Santa will arrive by fire truck.
There will be caroling in the village, artists and a tracker hay ride through the village. Motion by
Selectman Schubert to approve the Holiday Stroll on December 8, 2018 from 4-7 p.m., seconded by
Selectman Keniley and the vote was unanimous(4-0).
Traffic Safety& Fundamental Speed Limit-Chief Quigley stated the State recently adopted Speed Limit
Regulations which allow municipalities to opt-in to the law and reduce the statutory speed limit from 30
mph to 25 mph on any or all town-owned roadways within a thickly settled or business district. They are
required to notify Mass DOT of these changes. He stated other towns have recently adopted this. He is
just here tonight to start the conversation. He suggested the Board discuss with amongst each other,
constituents and other neighboring towns.

Operations Update-Red Lion Inn/Cohasset Harbor Inn/Atlantica-George McGoldrick-107 Border Street
stated he is part of a group by the name of Cohasset Hospitality Partners that has an agreement to take
over, manage and control the Red Lion Inn, Cohasset Harbor Inn and Atlantica. He is partners with Ted
Lubitz and The Catered Affair. The Red Lion Tavern will officially open on Thursday. They plan to be
open Wednesday through Sunday for dinner. They currently have 70 events booked so far over the next
year. They hope to generate a lot more traffic and activity in the village. The Atlantica is showing its age
and they are looking into different options. He will come back to the Board with an update within a
month. Brisa is now called the Cove and they will be open for brunch and family style dinners. They are
hoping to have the Old Salt House open in the spring. They are in the process of getting engineering
bids to repair the pier. They have had a lot of support from staff and lenders and are excited to get the
properties back up and running over the next year. The Board congratulated Mr. McGoldrick and his
partners. Mr. McGoldrick added that the Cohasset Harbor Inn will remain an inn for now and they are
talking to the Harbinger Group about a couple of different options.
Town Hall-Discussion of Warrant Article-Chairman Kennedy stated the Board finished their goals and
objectives last week. She will add the discussion of the town hall warrant article to the agenda for next
week. The Board will then refer to Capital Budget and Advisory Committees in the form of a motion.
Correspondence-Proclamations-Mr.Senior advised the Board there are three upcoming retirements and
he will be drafting proclamations for the Board to sign.
Open Space and Recreation-Chairman Kennedy read aloud a letter of approval to the Executive Office of
Energy& Environmental Affairs accepting the proposed Open Space& Recreation Plan for 2018-2024.
Motion by Selectman Schubert to approve the letter drafted on behalf of the Board of Selectmen
accepting the proposed Open Space& Recreation Plan,seconded by Selectman Keniley and the vote
was unanimous(4-0).
Mass DOT-Chairman Kennedy read aloud the draft letter to the Mass DOT for the Cunningham Bridge.
After a brief discussion the Board agree to send the letter in the spring after the bridge is complete.
Town Manager Update-Employee Recognition Event-Mr. Senior advised the Board the Town will be
hosting an Employee Recognition Event on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Willcutt
Commons. The event will recognize 9 employees with more than 20 years of service. They are also
recognizing 3 retirements. Mr. Senior stated the Cohasset Football team has a playoff game on Friday
and will go to the Superbowl if they win. The Soccer team is still in the playoffs as well. The
Thanksgiving Game will be played in Cohasset at 10 a.m.
Selectmen Update-Selectman Keniley sent the Board a form as a follow up from the facilitation meeting
last week. He asked that members complete and forward to Tracey Connors. Selectman Schubert
stated he would like to recognize Officer Paul Wilson for his work over the past two years and at the
Cohasset Health & Rec Fair for the Narcan distribution to the public. He worked with the Police Chief,
State Senator, South Shore Hospital and the Grayken Foundation. Selectman McCarthy stated the
Veteran's Day events were great. The whole town celebrated, and it was a great day. He thanked Phil
Mahoney and the American Legion for their work. A Cohasset High School student sung the National
Anthem and some students read their essays. Mr. Senior added that Phil Mahoney really stepped up
and did a great job. The weather was great, and it was a great day. Chairman Kennedy was unable to
attend as she was at the 243rd birthday for the Marine Corps.

Motion by Selectman Schubert to adjourn, seconded by Selectman Keniley and the vote was
unanimous (4-0).
The meeting adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
